iBanx and AkzoNobel signed a framework agreement in August 2013 to implement Unite in the plants of Functional and Industrial Chemicals to support the Life Saving Rules initiative.
In the third quarter of 2012 AkzoNobel introduced the eight Life Saving Rules and the Golden Principle worldwide: "Stop work if circumstances or behaviour are unsafe." Safety is a high priority on AkzoNobel's list. The LSR-programme is a clear footing in working toward the final goal: zero incidents and accidents.
"The introduction of the Life Saving Rules and the Golden Principle is an important step," says Peter Klappe, Project Manager Life Saving Rules/ Manager Health & Safety, Industrial Chemicals. “Now we have to imbed it and keep it alive in all locations."
One of the decisions to embed and maintain the Life Saving Rules and the Golden Principle within the plants is the framework agreement between AkzoNobel and iBanx HSE. It concerns Permit to Work, LoToTo, Management of Change and Production information hand-over (shift hand-over) For the plants this agreement means:
- Efficient implementation with experienced support
- Taking advantage of lessons learned in other plants
- Standard, best practice solutions but room for localisation
This formal cooperation on a business unit level is a confirmation for iBanx that its HSE-vision is supported by leading parties in the industry.
